Van Oord Offshore provides specific services to the Oil & Gas industry like Subsea Rock Installation (SRI) and Offshore Pipeline Installation (OPI) aiming at installation, stabilisation and protection of pipelines. We have accorded Quality Health, Safety and the Environment (QHSE) as the highest priority within Van Oord Offshore.

We believe that QHSE issues affect all levels of our organisation and can be affected by all levels of our organisation. Our pro-actively approach therefore is to encourage an active awareness and behaviour of QHSE, to create a 'safety culture' to work safe together whilst providing services that meet our Clients requirements.

To manage our operations, we have implemented a QHSE Management System which meets the requirements of the ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004.

We consider QHSE within Van Oord Offshore not only as 'top - down', but also as 'bottom - up'. Our people active in the field are often best placed to identify measures to further enhance the QHSE management, practices and equipment and are encouraged to share their concerns and suggestions.

To summarize; we are committed to QHSE as a living priority within Van Oord Offshore and we have a continuous drive to:

  • improve our behaviour to safety, since everyone within our organisation is responsible for his/her own safety and for that of his/her colleagues and is responsible for the environment.
  • eliminate hazards (and therefore the risks) at source.
  • prevent access to hazards and minimise risks that cannot be eliminated.
  • encourage the use of protective measures and equipment where these are needed.
  • improve our processes to be efficient, effective and safe as possible.

Our management ambition and commitment towards QHSE are reflected in the following document: Van Oord Offshore QHSE policy.
