![]() | Van Oord's specialised Offshore Wind Projects business unit offers both EPC main contracting and construction services to the offshore wind industry. It is part of our strategy to play an important role in the worldwide offshore wind energy market and thus contribute to the worldwide CO2 emission reduction goals.Initially, our involvement mainly focused on construction activities such as export and inter-array cable installation, burial and protection by rock installation, foundation scour protection and seabed preparation. The participation in the legacy company Mammoet Van Oord enabled us to expand our activities with foundation and topside installation and transport and therefore to provide clients with an integrated installation package. A recent highlight in our track record was the successful completion as EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) contractor of the Princess Amalia Wind Park off the Dutch coast. In July 2009, Van Oord and Belwind NV signed a contract for the engineering, procurement and construction of the first part of the Belwind offshore wind park project. As of 2011, the first phase of the Belwind project will annually provide 165,000 households with environment-friendly power. The Belwind project confirms our leading role as EPC contractor in north western Europe. Building wind farms
