Capital dredging at Krishnaptanam Port
Our client
Navayuga Engineering Company Ltd, a promoter and stakeholder in Krishnaptanam Port is developing a green field port at Krishnapatnam on the East Coast of India. A green field port is a new port developed from scratch in a new area.
Krishnaptnam Port development is a high value infrastructure project and was required to adhere to a strict project schedule interlinked with a number of parallel construction activities including an upcoming thermal power plant.
Our work
The capital dredging works consisted of dredging of 10.75 Million m³ of soils to form the access channel with trailer suction hopper dredgers Volvox Delta and Sagar Hansa.
The working area varied in depths from -8.0 m CD to -16.20 m CD.
Our results
Van Oord completed the works ahead of schedule and in a new phase, continued to work in the inner channel and turning circle areas.
