Our client
The Environment Agency is the leading UK public body with responsibility for protecting and improving the environment and plays an important role in the management of flood and coastal defences throughout England and Wales.
The Lincshore Renourishment Scheme involves the maintenance of a 23 km section of the Lincolnshire Coastline between Mablethorpe and Skegness. The most recent five year contract for undertaking these works was awarded in 2005 to the Lincshore Renourishment Group, a joint venture within which Van Oord UK Ltd is one of two equal partners.
Our work
The latest campaign undertaken in 2009, being the last campaign for the current maintenance contract, was completed at the end of June and involved over 492,000m³ of material being dredged and pumped ashore via a submerged pipeline.
Our result
The works are carried out within a sensitive and busy coastal resort, which has required considerable consultation and co-operation between all parties to ensure successful execution over a number of years.
