Our client
The Lynn Inner Dowsing Test Pile is located near the Wash on the North Sea Coast of the UK. The objective of Centrica Renewable Energy Ltd. was to test the site specific driveability of a steel monopile to a maximum depth of 35 m below seabed level.

Our work
Apart from testing the specific driveability we also collected further geotechnical and engineering information by monitoring. Mammoet Van Oord has been responsible for the load-out, marine transport and installation of a single steel monopile. The test pile has a diameter of 2 m, a wall thickness of 50 mm, a length of 65 m and a weight of 165 ton.

Our results
The installation operations of the test pile were successfully driven to a depth of 25.5 m below sea bed level in chalk soils and completed in time to the total satisfaction of the client.
