Our client
As a member of the Hanzelijn NL Consortium, Van Oord has been contracted by the ProRail rail infrastructure management company to design and construct the railway Hanzelijn between Lelystad and Drontermeer in the Netherlands. This section of the Hanzelijn is approximately 25 km long. In addition to the earth track, the Consortium will also build twenty large engineering works. One of the most striking will be the structure taking the railway line beneath the A6 motorway. The Consortium will also construct the shell of the new station in Dronten.
Our work
Van Oord Nederland is supplying the sand, carrying out the ground work and applying consolidation techniques. This section of the line is scheduled for completion in December 2009.
The result
The contract is part of the Hanzelijn, the new railway line between Lelystad and Zwolle. The Hanzelijn will be finished in 2012/2013. The new line will considerably shorten travel time between Amsterdam/Rotterdam and the northern and north-eastern reaches of the Netherlands.
