International career

Many of Van Oord’s employees regularly spend periods of time working outside their home country. We naturally offer them excellent benefits and a suitable work and leave system.

We make a distinction between our fleet employees and our staff employees. Fleet employees generally work and sleep on board one of our vessels.  Staff employees work at one of our project or branch offices and live on shore.

The work and leave system depends on the country in which you work, the project you are assigned to and prior arrangements concerning the type of posting and - for the fleet - your position on board. We discuss all these matters with you before you are sent to the country of destination. We also prepare you so that you know what to expect in the country where you will be working.

Finally, we will make suitable arrangements if you are sent outside your home country with your partner and/or children for a longer period of time.

At the very least, you will start on your new adventure well prepared.
