Kick-start your career with the award-winning technical traineeship at Van Oord. This challenging 12-month programme exposes you to the diversity of our projects and prepares you for a managerial position at our fast-growing company.
The traineeship begins with a four-week stay at our Dutch headquarters and courses in safety, project management, leadership and cultural awareness. You will visit the Dredging Museum, go on board a trailing suction hopper dredger and enjoy outdoor sports activities. In Moerdijk, you will visit our dredging simulator.
At a later stage, you will spend eight weeks working on one of international dredging projects. Then, you will spend 14 weeks working for different departments, such as Survey, IT, Engineering, Estimating and Offshore. This gives you a really good view of our business and helps you to build an internal network.
The end of the traineeship can be the beginning of a long and fruitful career at Van Oord. Depending on your interests and ambitions, you can pursue a career as, for example, inspector or engineer. We are happy to talk to you about your plans and plot a course for the next few years.
The traineeship has been designed with your personal and professional development in mind. You will acquire new skills - through self-study and by completing a basic course in dredging - and learn about yourself. And you will get to meet other trainees and share your experiences with them.
