The position
Are you precise, do you enjoy travelling and are you interested in wind power? Then being a dimension control surveyor at Van Oord is the job for you. From deep under the water to high up in the air, our projects are often unique and are without exception brimming with technical, financial and organizational challenges. Do you want to find that one millimetre in a 100-metre wind turbine? If so, apply for the role of dimension control surveyor at Van Oord!

Your responsibilities
At Van Oord, Offshore Wind is a real driver of innovation and our quality requirements for wind turbines are very high. As Dimension Control Surveyor, you will have a crucial responsibility in this regard: measuring the precise dimensions of the elements that make up these enormous steel structures. The required accuracy is down to – or less than – a millimetre! Because accuracy is so crucial, you will also keep a close eye on the maintenance and calibration of the advanced measurement equipment and analyse irregularities. After all, the project teams must be able to trust your information implicitly. In this way, you will contribute to the construction of functional and safe wind turbines – at our Gorinchem office, in the manufacturer's workshop or in the port where the installation ship Aeolus is waiting to depart for the construction site. This post represents a vital link as well as a unique role on the boundary between normal and industrial survey, and it will call on your knowledge and ingenuity from Belgium to Taiwan.

Job requirements
You are analytical, accurate and combine flexibility with thoroughness. You are comfortable collaborating with your fellow surveyor and the quality inspectors. You are a trusted adviser for the entire project team and you are able to regularly surprise them with your excellent ideas and creative solutions. You enjoy travel, even when there is a lot of it, and you don't have a fear of heights. In addition, you will bring the following to the table:
• a higher vocational (HBO) degree in an appropriate discipline;
• at least three years work experience as a surveyor, including the use of (industrial) surveyor software;
• excellent command of the English language;
• you have an EU-passport (and due to payroll restrictions preferably from Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal. Spain, Sweden or the UK).

We offer
A responsible job with scope to exercise your independent judgment. You will see a great deal of the world, while at the same time being part of a team and of a large (family-owned) company that believes in sustainability. Alongside an attractive package, you will be given plenty of opportunity (and a training budget) to develop professionally and personally, so that you can continue to grow within your role.
