The position

Are you a highly motivated Quality Manager with good managerial skills? Do you have experiences with development and lead a professional Quality department in a project-based organisation and do you strive for continuous improvement? 

For our Business Units Offshore and Offshore Wind, location Gorinchem, we are looking for a Quality Department Manager. You ensure compliance by preparing and proposing improvement initiatives, based on analyses, lessons learned and reported deviations and ideas. You lead and drive the improvement projects and assure that process changes are embedded in the management system. This with the aim to improve the project results and ensures that delivered products meet the requirements. 

Your team exists of approximately 20 Quality Staff (plus approx. 40 in the QA/QC pool) and around 10 Document Controllers (plus approx.30 in the pool). You will report functionally to the Director QHSE and for operational matters to the Business Director.  

Your responsibilities
It is your responsibility to resource, organise and optimise all Quality and Document Management activities and develop and implement Quality and Document Management policies and procedures, based on corporate QHSE strategy and relevant legislation as well as its policies and mandatory certification requirements. Furthermore, you: 

  • ensure adequate awareness, expertise and support on (EPC) projects; 
  • together with Procurement, select and monitor critical suppliers to ensure delivered quality; 
  • maintain and implement a selection and monitoring system for supply chain quality; 
  • organise and lead team of quality professionals by attracting, training and motivating them; 
  • make a forecast of the capacity needs for project support in consultation with the business and project managers. 

Job requirements

You have good management skills and you are organizational sensitive. You are able to influence customers, suppliers, subcontractors and management at all levels. In addition, you have:  

  • a BSc or MSc degree, with preference for (technical) Engineering or Business Administration; 
  • extensive experience in QHSE or other relevant discipline within the offshore, dredging or process industry; 
  • experience with Quality (QA/QC) and change-management; 
  • experience with working in a supply chain- and project-based organisation; 
  • excellent command in spoken and written English.
