Van Oord is looking for a Process Manager for its projects in the tender and execution phase within Dutch borders, such as the Afsluitdijk, Windmillpark Fryslan and VIA15.
As Process Manager you are involved in complex DBF(M) and D&C projects from the beginning up until the end. You contribute directly to the transformation of Van Oord from a civil contractor to an EPC contractor by making integrated project controls a well-known understanding within the organization. Continuously the Project Planning, Risk & Process Management department work hard to bring the disciplines of Systems Engineering, Risk Management and Planning closer together. Your role is to be pro-active in this process and to bridge the gap towards Cost Estimation, Cost Control and other disciplines.
You guide our project teams and specialists within the department throughout the whole project. You implement processes, methods and systems to work more efficient. Your higher goal is maximum added value during every step of the process and at every location within the organization. Customer requirements, design and implementation are better aligned because of your project strategy and activities that cascade from there. You are responsible for managing the various employees of the core team (IPM team) and you advise and report to the Project Manager.
You are the ambassador of the department for our internal clients and for Van Oord towards our external clients. Hierarchical leadership is not your primary motive. Instead, motivating, stimulating and coaching are your keywords to inspire people. You are overall responsible for all processes, but you don’t hesitate to go into the details with stakeholders to understand why they act as they do. In addition, you will bring the following to the table:
● A Bachelor or Master degree in a technical direction (preferable Civil Engineering or Business- Administration/ Management with an interface with technology);
● A minimum 10 years of experience within one of the project controls disciplines of which a minimum 4 years of experience as Manager Project Controls or as a process manager;
● Excellent knowledge of DBF(M) contracts;
● Excellent command of the Dutch language is a mandatory requirement.
The department Project Planning, Risk & Process Management supports the tender- and project teams within Van Oord with predictable and transparent implementation and delivery. We do this with a team of highly motivated professionals in the field of risk, planning, systems engineering and process management who think and act beyond the limits of their own expertise.
