Your responsibilities
150 wind turbines, which supply a total of 600 megawatts of sustainable energy to 785,000 households – that’s the Gemini wind farm, 85 kilometres off Groningen, which we have built. Or displacing 41 million cubic metres of sand to create 250 hectares of new land in order to boost the container capacity of Taiwan’s largest port, the Port of Kaohsiung. These are typical projects for Van Oord.

It demonstrates our pioneering role in sustainable energy solutions and you will be supporting us to continue to play that role. As a project planner for offshore wind farms, you will deliver reliable project schedules  during both tender and execution phases.

You will be working with clients, consortium partners and (sub)contractors and advising us on time, progress, resources, opportunities and risks. In order to be able to perform your role properly, you will pay visits and you will travel to our work locations all over the world. It is a multifaceted, but above all a responsible role, in which your knowledge and ingenuity will be put to the test in every phase of the project.

Job requirements
You are a first class organizer who is comfortable employing critical path analyses, 'what-if' scenarios and probabilistic scheduling for optimum project management. You rarely lose the overall picture (and if you do, you quickly regain it). Even if things are sometimes hectic and processing times are short, you continue to communicate and work with others. you are comfortable with short as well as longer trips abroad – on the contrary. In addition, you have the following skills:

  • At least a Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical discipline;
  • At least 6 years of experience in EPC-projects, in both the tender and execution phase;
  • Sound knowledge of Primavera and other planning-related software;
  • Excellent command of the English language.
