The position
Are you a motivated and enthusiastic Service Engineer? Are you flexible, familiar with (inland) floating and shore based dredging equipment and do you have thorough knowledge of the various on-board mechanical, electrical and hydraulically driven systems? For our in the Netherlands based floating and shore based equipment, we are looking for a full-time enthusiastic and driven Maintenance Technician / Service Engineer.

Your responsibilities
NL Equipment Management, part of Van Oord Ship Management is looking for a Service Engineer inland floating. The Service Engineer will be the first contact for the fleet in case of malfunction or breakdown and is responsible for taking all necessary actions to resolve the problems.

Responsibilities:

  • Error finding and repair of systems, machines and installations on a mechanical level
  • Perform maintenance on the imposed equipment in the broadest sense of the word
  • Troubleshooting and long- and short term maintenance advise / proposals
  • Preparing repair lists and supervising modifications, repairs and dockings of equipment
  • Administrating and documenting carried out modifications, repairs and dockings
  • The running of evening and weekend service if necessary

Job requirements

  • Willingness to work occasionally on weekends and evenings (picket services)
  • Full-time available (40 hours per week).
  • Being able to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Approximately 5 years relevant work experience in the maintenance of machines / installations for the heavy industry or dredging equipment (for example: pumps, turbines, compressors, cranes, diesel engines, ships and land based dredging equipment)
  • MBO level 3/4 training (secondary vocational education) in mechanical engineering, metallurgy, mechanical or mechatronics or a similar course (have you completed a maximum of MBO 2 or LTS (Pre-vocational secondary education), but you have interesting work experience that fits well with the vacancy?
