A number of contracts in Australia and New Zealand

Van Oord has been awarded a ten year maintenance dredging contract in the ports of Taranaki, Tauranga and Timaru, New Zealand. The total contract value amounts to some EUR 13 million. Clients are the port authorities of the before mentioned three ports. This contract is an extension of the existing contract and means approximately 15 weeks per year deployment of trailing suction hopper dredger Pelican for the period 2008 - 2017.

Client Cockburn Cement Ltd has extended the existing contract for the supply of shell sand for the period 2010 – 2017. The total contract value amounts to some EUR 25 million and will be executed with the trailing suction hopper dredger Volvox Anglia. 

The Port of Brisbane Corporation has awarded the dredging contract in the port of Brisbane to Van Oord. The total contract value amounts to some EUR 17 million. The activities for the dredging and reclamation of 2.4 million m3 of sand have already been started. The project is scheduled for completion in March/April 2008.
