Offshore contract in the Emirate of Fujairah

Van Oord Offshore signed a Subcontract for the Abu Dhabi Crude Oil Pipeline Project (ADCOP) - Offshore Pipeline and Facility.

The Abu Dhabi Crude Oil Pipeline will originate from Habshan in Abu Dhabi and terminate in Fujairah, both located in the United Arab Emirates. The pipeline has been designed to transport 1.5 Million Barrels of Crude Oil Per Day (MMBPD) from the Company for Onshore Oil Operations Facilities (ADCO) over a distance of approximately 370 km to the Main Oil Terminal for export through the Offshore Loading Facilities.

The Subcontract is awarded for the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) of the Offshore Works. The works include the offshore installation of 3 pipelines with a total length of approximately 13 km and 3 Single Point Mooring Systems (SPM's). All three pipelines need trenching and backfilling. The project will be executed in joint venture with Bluewater who will supply the SPM's and associated engineering.

The execution of the works shall take place in 2009 and will be completed by the second quarter of 2010.

The Ultimate Client is the International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC) and the Main Contractor is the China Petroleum Engineering & Construction Corporation (CPECC).
