Van Oord Nederland is building a quay in Beverwijk

Van Oord Nederland has been awarded the contract to build a quay along Zijkanaal A in Beverwijk (The Netherlands). The quay structure will have a length of 225 metres and a dam height of 12 metres. The contract also includes the design of the dredging work, the coastal and shoreline works, the land-based infrastructure and applying for the required permits. The contract involves a sum of more than EUR 4 million.

Van Oord Nederland will be commencing the project in September 2008. The work will take approximately eight months. The client is Abeko, an international plant hire company that specialises in earth-moving, transhipment, demolition, cutting and dredging equipment. Abeko works on Van Oord projects throughout the world.
